How much crap can one family own?

So, yesterday I put up some new shelves in our closet in the basement playroom. It was pretty easy, one of those jobs you put off for a long time thinking it will be hard only to realise it was really a piece of cake. Anyway, we spent the better part of today going through our store room and rearranging things a bit. We ended-up with something like six or seven bags of garbage/thrift store/recycling. Keep in mind that we have had at least three massive garage sales in the last five years, and we still had seven bags worth of junk that we don't want or need. Seven bags! And we're not done yet! I still have to go through my four or five boxes of stuff that I just couldn't live without after our last purging...stuff that has been sitting in the same boxes for close to fifteen years...and I know I'm still going to hang on to some of this junk. Oh, I'll winnow it down to maybe two boxes this time, but those boxes will sit untouched until the next garage sale or, God help me, we act on plans to convert the storage room into an office space for April. I swear, the next person who tries to get us to take something they no longer want is gonna get a punch in the neck very dirty look! I'm out...but not before adding pictures of the kids painting rocks, because that's why do it...for the kids...or whatever.

You know you do it for the chicks. Don't think you are fooling anyone.
